Apache Trail

Wind along the Apache Trail, near Apache Junction, Arizona and admire the amazing views of the Superstition Mountains and Tonto National Forest. As you hike along this 6.8 mile trail, you'll pass by Lost Dutchman State Park, Canyon Lake and Apache Lake before ending at Lake Roosevelt. The Trail was finished in 1905 along with the completion of the Roosevelt Dam.

With a population of six people, Tortilla Flat Settlement is Arizona's “smallest official community.” Nestled in the Superstition Mountains, this little town began as a stage stop in the early 1900's, when the road was used to service the Roosevelt Dam construction.
