Besh-ba-Gowah Archaeological Park
At the Besh-ba-Gowah Archaeological Park, you'll step back in time over 700 years and see one of the largest and most complex of the Salado communities. Take a walk through the old pueblo and view the typical furnishings of the era. Stop by the museum and explore the many artifacts on display from this remarkable culture. Tonto National Monument
These famous and well-preserved cliff dwellings were occupied by the Salado culture from the 13th to early 15th centuries. The Salado people were knowledgeable farmers and fine craftsmen. They produced some of the most exquisite polychrome pottery and intricately woven textiles to be found in the Southwest. You'll find many of these objects on display in the Visitor Center museum.
